I just finished reading this article and felt compelled to share it with the real estate community. It contains 2 statistics that I found interesting.
- "In 2010, only 57% of buyers who purchased their homes had a buyer's agent."
- "Buyers who use a buyer's agent pay an average of 5% less than buyers who don't."
Pretty interesting stuff. If you're not using a buyer's agent, make sure the seller's agent is trustworthy, has a good reputation, and will negotiate with their seller to get you a good deal. I've represented buyers and sellers in the same transaction, and I always look out for both parties best interests, but there's many sleazy agents out there that don't.
